GUIDELINES FOR THE PREPARATION OF POSTERS
|
|
|
Posters are not manuscripts tacked to a wall. They are hypertext,
with the links standing nearby, drink in hand. Please create your posters
so that:
|
|
|
1.
|
They are easy to read (18pt font minimum) |
2.
|
They capture the attention of passers-by (i.e., provocative,
but not outrageous titles, good data plots, etc.) |
3.
|
They quickly engage intellect (a brief abstract is strongly
encourged). |
4.
|
They conform to the following format, even to the point
of using these headings:
- What is the question?
- How did I ask it?
- What is the answer?
- What does it mean?
|
5.
|
Remember, the stuff on the wall merely sets the occasion
for a meeting of minds. Craft it so that the facts are quickly and
clearly communicated, giving the reader a chance to admire what you've
done, and to say something of relevance. |
6.
|
Recommended poster size: A0 (119 x 84 cm).
You will have 1.5 m (height) x 1.2 m(width) poster board available.
It will be possible to mount seperate pages on the board,
however single large sheets are preferable.

guidelines are a copy of those for the Fechner Day 99, except for poster
size. |
